CRAFT COMMISSION

Becki was delighted to be commissioned by The Simple Things magazine to create three craft project tutorials for their June issue.Inspired by their theme of the month, ‘Flower’, Becki created a step by step guide for how to make a mini foraging kit, encouraging readers to head out and capture the magic of this abundant month in nature and throughout summer. The mini foraging kit included a DIY Recycled Field Notes Journal, Flower Press and Drawstring Bag, all of which were suitable for all crafting skills.

The Simple Things is published monthly in print and digitally and is all about taking time to live well. It celebrates slowing down, enjoying what you have and making the most of where you live - perfectly aligning with Becki’s core creative values.

Hobbycraft

REGULAR CRAFT COMMISSIONS

Becki has been a regular craft contributor to Hobbycraft for the last three years, and has worked on a variety of projects for them. As the largest arts and crafts retailer in the UK, this successful relationship regularly puts Becki’s crafting in front of Hobbycraft’s millions of customers. 

Projects are usually seasonally inspired or trend led, and are designed to be achievable for all crafting journeys - from beginners right through to seasoned makers. With the number one craft blog in the UK, Becki is proud to frequently contribute to the Hobbycraft Ideas Hub helping inspire readers’ next project. These commissions range from upcycling inspiration, painting and illustration right through to celebration ideas, printing and crafted gifting.  Becki is thrilled that her crafts are often used for in-store promotional imagery and marketing collateral for the infamous crafting brand. 

Hobbycraft

WORKSHOP KIT CREATION

After working with Hobbycraft extensively for the past three years, Becki was delighted to be commissioned to design a workshop kit for their newly launched online workshop platform. 

Drawing on five years experience of teaching brush lettering, Becki created a brush lettering workshop kit aimed at beginners and inclusive of a full tutorial guide, templates on mark making, brush lettered alphabet, joining letters and practice phrases. Becki was heavily involved in every stage of the kit’s creation; working with Hobbycraft from her initial ideas right through to the final complete product and delivering the workshops.

Following the highly successful launch of the kit and workshops, Becki has since taught a team of Hobbycraft’s chosen artisans how to effectively deliver the workshop. This offers Hobbycraft and their customers continual access to the kit’s content, both in-store and online. In the first 6 months since launch the workshop has been taught hundreds of times between Becki and Hobbycraft’s colleagues. 

For Christmas 2021, Becki developed a festive brush lettering workshop kit and taught this via 25 online workshops. She is currently creating an intermediate kit, exclusively for Hobbycraft, which will launch in 2022 to further the brush lettering workshop experience.

BBC Countryfile Magazine

CRAFT COMMISSION

Becki was commissioned by BBC’s Countryfile Magazine to create five craft projects for the Christmas 2019 issue. With an established understanding of the reader, she created seasonal and sustainable projects, all woven together by an appreciation for craft, nature and the great British outdoors. 

Readers could follow Becki’s step by step guides and simply styled imagery to create a compostable wreath to adorn their front door, naturally dyed linen gift wrap, star decorations from foraged twigs, a beautiful paper star garland, and macrame leaf decorations for their Christmas tree. 

As a counterpart to the nation’s favourite countryside show and a perfect fit for anyone with an interest in the great British outdoors, Becki was thrilled to bring craft projects to their festive issue.

Mollie Makes

REGULAR CRAFT COMMISSIONS

As a regular craft contributor to Mollie Makes magazine for five years, Becki has developed an extensive understanding of the Mollie Makes reader and which craft projects appeal to them. 

As a multi-craft and lifestyle magazine, Mollie Makes features creative inspiration and project ideas across many categories which perfectly aligns with Becki’s experience and capabilities as a multidisciplinary creative designer. Her regular craft contributions have ranged from painterly cheese platters, pressed floral easter eggs and resin coasters to natural dye gift wraps, vegan truffles and sustainable and compostable wreaths. 

In 2019 Becki was commissioned as the designer of Mollie Makes’ 2020 calendar, which featured 12 seasonal craft projects. Over the course of the year readers were able to explore Becki’s projects in macrame, embroidery, sewing, printing, marbling, painting, yarn crafts and paper crafting and the calendar also featured Becki’s highly coveted styling tips. 

The WI

REGULAR CRAFT CONTRIBUTOR

For the last 18 months Becki has been a regular contributor to the WI, creating modern and fun craft content for the WI members-only website, My WI.

As the largest women's organisation in the UK, the WI pride themselves on being a trusted place for women to share experiences and learn from each other and as such has a legion of modern makers as members. Becki has contributed a huge variety of craft projects, all designed exclusively for the WI’s multi-generational platform. These projects have ranged from painting, paper craft and natural dyeing to upcycling, seasonal makes and floral crafts.

In The Moment Magazine

CRAFT COMMISSION

Designed for modern-thinking creative women, In The Moment magazine is a celebration of mindfulness, creativity and wellbeing. Becki has worked with In The Moment magazine writing and creating two craft commissions. 

The first, a feature on foraging for and pressing flowers, took readers on adventures near and far picking the perfect flowers to craft pressed flower artwork for their homes. 

Becki’s second craft commission was a step by step guide for a fully compostable foraged Winter wreath, with a focus on sustainability and mindful crafting, perfect for In The Moment readers. 

Love Embroidery Magazine

CRAFT COMMISSION

For their Launch issue, Becki was commissioned by Love Embroidery Magazine to design brush lettered phrases and an alphabet template for readers to use in their own embroidery craft projects. The project taught readers how to transfer Becki’s motifs and embroider over them utilising different stitches with a comprehensive step by step tutorial. Imagery of a positive affirmation banner crafted by Becki sat alongside to inspire the magazine’s modern makers.

Becki was then commissioned for Issue ten to create three brush lettered bridal phrases and motifs. The project taught readers how to transfer Becki’s motifs and embroider over them utilising different stitches with a comprehensive step by step tutorial.
