The group had booked a lovely house to accommodate themselves for the Hen do weekend and when they got in touch were in the initial stages of planning out activities for their 3-day celebration, I chatted through some workshop ideas and options with the bridesmaids and we decided candle painting and clay would be a great way to for everyone to get creative and also have something handmade to take home from the workshop.

Read MoreWhilst there may not seem as though there is much to be inspired by outside at the moment, there is actually plenty of nature to find and appreciate during these late winter months if you look a little closer. In my Celebrating Winter 4 week course we are focusing on exactly this, looking a little deeper to find pops of colour with rose hip buds, catkins, berried ivy, hellebores and even some early blooming daffodils, blossom and snowdrops. It’s not just the more colourful nature that can spark inspiration but the shapes, textures and movement of dried grasses, interesting branches and trailing dried clematis which is one of my favourites in the Winter, it’s perfectly frothy, magical and wonderfully wild…

Read MoreAround 4 years ago I began Nature Journaling and over the last few years I have been creatively experimenting and working out my journaling style, something that I have actually found is ever changing, but I have settled on some definite styles that I tend to embrace and use most frequently. It began as a way of me being creative that had no ‘endpoint,’ I found I was often racing to get a finished piece and I wanted to find a creative way to enjoy the process. Nature Journaling has turned into one of my most creative practices, it is something that helps me slow down, appreciate nature with a sense of gratitude and allows me to embrace each season for all its magic… including Winter!

On planning the mural, I took a trip down to ASK to have a look at the space that I would be working with for the illustration piece, I took a few photos and spoke to the team about how they wanted the ideas to work before heading back to my studio to get to work on a draft idea. Taking inspiration from the brand guidelines which included town houses, stars, sparkle and love, I wanted to draw on the housing element to create the base for my scene before adding my own personal touch with some nature elements alongside the sparkle and magic.
