Celebrating the publication of my new book - Paint, Make, Create
I’m so excited to share with you that my new book has been published this week. Paint, Make, Create is my second book with over 20 multi craft projects woven together with painting that all celebrate and embrace the seasons. The first couple of chapters begin with introducing paint types, paint brush types, colour theory and covers exercises to get you used to using new materials and exploring your own creative journey with paints before delving into the 20 seasonal craft projects. I wanted to book to really celebrate creativity and encourage everyone to pick up a paint brush and get painting.
Seasonal craft projects include:
Floral painted Ceramic eggs
Cake toppers
Painterly plant pots
Painting a floral hoop and adding texture with embroidery
Painting your own hedgerow inspired place names
Printing and embroidering a citrus table cloth
Upcycling water bottles with a summer pattern
Printing with leaves to craft your own napkins
Painting minimalist pumpkins
Exploring clay to make candleholders
Painting your own gift wrap
Painting baubles both in a modern style and more traditional style
Painting and paper crafting your own christmas crackers
And so many more!
The copies were delivered yesterday so I spent all afternoon and evening packing up all of the pre orders with a painterly print popped into the package and they’ve now left the studio and on their way to their new homes. I so can’t wait to see them start to arrive with people and I’m so very grateful for everyone that pre ordered a copy. For now I am out of stock however you can order a copy from Waterstones, Amazon, directly from the publishers or from your local book shop.
I absolutely loved making this book, it was commissioned just before the pandemic started so as we went into lockdown I threw myself into writing, making, shooting and styling it. It has become really important to be because of the creative joy it gave me through that time so I’m really hoping it brings a bit of that joy to everyone who’s bought a copy.
I also want to say a big thank you to the creative team that made the book possible, Katherine Raderecht for commissioning me, Jane Toft for designing the book , Jesse Wild for shooting it and also to Hobbycraft for supplying all of the materials in the book and their continued support. I really hope you enjoy it!
