Painting Flowers from the Field of Stem & Green
Painting Flowers from the field of Stem & Green
As I mentioned in my June musings, one of the ways to celebrate the seasons is by buying locally grown seasonal flowers, I found Stem & Green a few months ago after sourcing flowers for a shoot and have since picked up buckets of their beautiful blooms for painting inspiration, styling and craft projects. After collecting a bucket from the farm a couple of weeks ago I arranged them into this large urn vase to paint, taking inspiration from the Cornflowers, Ranunculus, Anemones and movement in the bouquet I used gouache paints to capture this and create a loose wild floral design.
I was delighted when after seeing it Stem & Green asked to license the design to use on the gift cards so with excitement I shared this painting with them and it has now been printed onto a luxe hammered folded card and arrives with every gift wrapped order from the website.
Floral inspiration
Stem & Green are farming sustainable flowers that are plastic free, grown in healthy soil and have no chemical input. They grow in a way that is in tune with nature using the No-Dig method across the farm to keep their soil happy, they only work with peat free compost that is produced from waste from the biogas or forestry industry & are committed to using 100% recyclable and biodegradable packaging. The way in which they farm alongside the rhythm of nature means that the flowers are naturally grown seasonally when nature intended. This ethos totally resonates with my work and how I try and celebrate the seasons so I’m delighted that we have worked together on this and the giftcard is the perfect way to keep a little floral magic in your house all year round. .
Here’s a few more pictures of the beautiful blooms I’ve bought so far, so many gorgeous colour combinations to be inspired by and these flowers have provided me with not only inspiration but so much joy arranging and styling them.
