Sustainable Cardboard Easter Decorations
Sustainable Cardboard Easter Decorations
You may have noticed I quite like a cardboard craft project especially when it can compliment the season or time of celebration. With Easter fast approaching instead of buying anything new to decorate with, try upcycling cardboard and crafting your own Easter Garland or decorations, I think these would look great hanging on an Easter tree and they are the perfect craft for both adults and children to experiment with paint and patterns.

Old cardboard
Hole punch
Twine
Paint (I used acrylic but you could use a Gouache or a paint pen too)
Lay your cardboard flat and begin drawing your egg shapes out. I’ve used a ceramic egg to draw around however you can draw your oval shapes freely if you don’t have something to draw around. Cut out with scissors and hole punch each of the egg shapes at the top of the cardboard.
Decorate your cardboard with patterns, a polka dot, stripe or gingham are nice simple but effective patterns. Remember to work your patterns off the side of the cardboard to create a full coverage look with your painting. Leave to dry before painting the other side. String together with twine, tieing after each egg to secure the cardboard shapes in place before hanging up to celebrate the season and Easter!
